Three private schools in Ludhiana received bomb threat emails on Thursday, officials said. The messages also mentioned a threat to blow up railway tracks in the city. After detailed searches at all locations, police said nothing suspicious was found.
Following the alerts, police teams and bomb disposal squads were immediately rushed to the schools for inspection. As a precautionary step, authorities evacuated the schools to ensure the safety of students and staff.
The emails also referred to a possible blast on railway tracks, prompting the railway police to conduct extensive checks at Ludhiana railway station. Police officials later confirmed that no suspicious object or activity was detected during the searches.
The incident comes amid a series of similar threat emails reported in recent weeks across Punjab and Haryana, most of which were later declared hoaxes. Earlier, several schools in Chandigarh and Punjab’s Barnala had also received bomb threats, but investigations in those cases too found nothing suspicious.
