Rescue operations to locate seven workers trapped inside the collapsed SLBC tunnel in Telangana continued on Monday, marking the 24th day of relentless efforts by authorities.
Efforts have been accelerated at two key locations, identified as ‘D1 and D2,’ where officials believe there may be human presence.
The search has been bolstered by an increased number of personnel drawn from various agencies, including the South Central Railway, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), state-run miner Singareni Collieries, and expert rat miners.
A government release on Sunday stated that advanced technologies were being deployed in the operation, while specialists from multiple disciplines were providing crucial inputs.

The body of Gurpreet Singh, a tunnel boring machine (TBM) operator, was recovered on 9 March and subsequently handed over to his family in Punjab. However, seven others remain trapped inside the collapsed structure.
The incident occurred on 22 February when a section of the SLBC project tunnel gave way, entrapping eight individuals, comprising both engineers and labourers. Since then, relentless search and rescue efforts have been underway to locate the missing workers.
Authorities continue to explore every possible avenue to expedite operations, but as the days progress, concerns grow over the fate of those still unaccounted for.
