Security forces on Thursday launched a cordon and search operation in J&K’s Doda district following information about the suspected movement of militants in the area, a police official said.
The search operation was jointly launched by police and CRPF in Dorhu, Basti, and the adjoining forest area in Bhaderwah at 8:30 in the morning.
They said the search operation was underway when the last reports were received.
Some of the residents noticed suspicious movement in the area and subsequently informed the police, the officials said.
Earlier on Monday, security forces launched a massive search operation at around two dozen places in the higher reaches along the Line of Control to counter militants who are allegedly hiding in the region.

Following deadly terror attacks in the twin border districts of Rajouri and Poonch in 2021, militants spread their activities to almost entire districts of the Jammu region last year, leaving 44 people, including 18 security personnel and 13 militants, dead.
The officials said an operation was carried out to flush out the militants hiding in the region.
According to some Intel reports, militants active in the Jammu division are mostly non-local, predominantly of Pakistani origin.
During a press brief, the former DGP, J&K, said that “80 per cent of active militants in the region are from Pakistan, as the local recruit numbers have fallen to the lowest since 2021.”
The security forces have recently intensified their counterinsurgency operations in Jammu and Kashmir by maintaining a strong presence in the Valley and vigilance along the LoC.
