A seven-year-old girl was raped and murdered, allegedly by a relative and an accomplice, in Madhya Pradesh’s Khargone district, police confirmed on Wednesday. The horrific incident occurred Tuesday evening within the Un police station limits after the girl’s father had sent her out to run an errand.
Khargone’s Additional SP, Shakuntala Ruhal, stated that authorities were alerted via the 112 emergency helpline following the discovery of the child's body.
In response, a team comprising forensic experts, a dog squad, and Superintendent of Police Ravindra Verma arrived at the scene to investigate.

Following critical leads, police apprehended two suspects who reportedly confessed to the crime during questioning. Investigations revealed that the girl was intercepted at approximately 7:00 pm while returning home with groceries. The suspects allegedly abducted her, committed the assault, and subsequently killed her. Following a post-mortem, a case was registered under the POCSO Act, and a full investigation is currently in progress.
