Panic spread across Chandigarh on Tuesday after several schools received bomb threat via emails. The messages arrived on the first day of classes after the summer vacation, creating anxiety among students, parents and school staff. School authorities immediately informed the police.
Police teams, bomb disposal squads and sniffer dog units rushed to the schools and conducted detailed searches of the campuses. Security was tightened, and all standard safety measures were put in place. Officials later confirmed that no suspicious object was found at any of the schools.
This is not the first such incident in Chandigarh. Several schools and other institutions have received similar threat emails in the past.
In earlier cases too, police carried out extensive search operations, but no explosives or suspicious items were found. Although most of those threats were later found to be hoaxes, security agencies continue to take every threat seriously and respond with full precaution.
