Punjab and Haryana continued to face intense cold on Sunday, with Hisar emerging as the coldest place as the minimum temperature dropped to 2.5 degrees Celsius.
In Haryana, Ambala recorded a low of 8.5 degrees Celsius, which was two degrees above normal, as per the local meteorological department.
Narnaul registered a minimum temperature of 5 degrees Celsius, one degree below normal. Rohtak recorded a low of 5.8 degrees Celsius, while Bhiwani saw the mercury dip to 6 degrees Celsius.
A dense layer of fog covered many parts of Punjab and Haryana early in the morning, leading to poor visibility across several areas.
Chandigarh, the joint capital of Punjab and Haryana, recorded a minimum temperature of 5.6 degrees Celsius, one degree below the seasonal average.
In Punjab, Faridkot was the coldest place at 3.4 degrees Celsius. Amritsar and Ludhiana both recorded minimum temperatures of 4.4 degrees Celsius.
Patiala experienced cold conditions with a low of 4.6 degrees Celsius, one degree below normal. Bathinda and Gurdaspur recorded minimum temperatures of 6 degrees Celsius and 4 degrees Celsius, respectively.
