In a tragic incident unfolding in the early hours of Monday, a 21-year-old restaurant employee, identified as Manish from Kothi village in Kupvi tehsil, met a fatal end near the police reporting room on Mall Road.
The accused, identified as Satinder Pal, a 30-year-old resident of Haryana and a worker in a neighboring restaurant, allegedly perpetrated the attack.
As per reports, the gruesome event transpired around 2 am when the assailant, Satinder Pal, forcibly entered Manish's room and launched a vicious assault with a sharp weapon before fleeing the scene.
In a desperate bid to seek help and possibly save his life, Manish made a frantic dash towards the police assistance room. Utilizing the very weapon used against him, he shattered the glass of the control room's door.
Despite the swift response from law enforcement, Manish succumbed to his injuries before reaching the Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Sadar police station's Station House Officer, Dharamsen Negi, confirmed the registration of a case under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code against the accused. The investigtion is ongoing, with authorities awaiting the results of the post-mortem examination.
