Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan is scheduled to visit Odisha on Monday to attend a series of official engagements, according to a statement. In the morning, he will attend the inaugural session of a programme marking 'Mandia Dibasa' (Millet Day) at the Lok Seva Bhavan Convention Centre.
Following this, the Minister will travel to the Sadar area of Cuttack, where he is due to meet with local farmers. During this interaction, he plans to hear their experiences, learn about the issues they encounter, and gather their suggestions concerning agricultural policies, the statement detailed.
The engagement will allow him to assess the practical status of various agricultural schemes implemented by the central government and review their impact at the grassroots level.
In the afternoon, Chouhan will participate in a meeting at the ICAR-Central Rice Research Institute (CRRI) in Cuttack. He will, reportedly, depart from Bhubaneswar for Vijayawada in the evening.
According to the Ministry, Chouhan’s visit is being viewed as a significant step towards advancing sustainable and self-reliant agriculture in Odisha.
