High drama broke out at the Ladhowal toll plaza in Ludhiana on Saturday night when a group of men in a car suddenly opened fire at the toll plaza staff.
The incident took place after the group insisted on using the VIP lane. One of them claimed to be the chairman of a department, but when the staff asked for their IDs, the men got angry and started shooting at the employees.
The toll plaza staff members managed to dodge the bullets and even tried to stop the attackers, but the group escaped. The entire incident was caught on CCTV cameras, and the footage has now gone viral on social media.
After getting information, the police reached the spot and started their probe.
Kuljit Singh, a worker at the toll plaza, said the vehicle came from the Ludhiana side and was going towards Phillaur. He said there were seven to eight men in the vehicle, and they fired five shots at the staff. When the workers tried to catch them, the attackers fled towards the South City bridge, he added.
