Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Saturday said his government has achieved record milestone in welfare delivery and economic growth. He said the completion of 1,000 days in office shows a strong commitment to inclusive development.

Siddaramaiah launched the government’s 1,000-day celebration and also launched a programme to distribute title deeds to one lakh beneficiaries. The event was organised jointly by the district administration and the Revenue Department.

“We are distributing title deeds to one lakh beneficiaries for the second time through the Revenue Department. So far, we have created a record by distributing title deeds to 2.20 lakh families,” he said.

“It is our pro-people government that has made the state's GDP number one in the country. The state is also moving at record speed in GST tax collection,” he said, presenting data to support his claim.

Siddaramaiah said his government has completed two years and nine months in office. “Out of the 590 promises made, we have fulfilled 243 promises. The remaining promises will also be fulfilled in the remaining term,” he said.

Speaking on his earlier tenure, he said that during 2013-18, the Congress government fulfilled all its promises. He added that 30 additional promises not mentioned in the manifesto were also implemented, creating a record of “walking the talk”.

Siddaramaiah said that through the guarantee schemes, the state has provided direct benefits worth Rs 1.18 lakh crore to the citizens so far. “Our government has successfully completed 1,000 days in office. Only the Congress government walks the talk,” Siddaramaiah said. He said his government believes in comprehensive development for people of all castes, religions and languages. He added that it is committed to reducing inequality in the state.

“The government completed 1,000 days on February 13. Our achievement convention during these 1,000 days reflects our commitment. We stand for the poor, Dalits, backward classes, minorities, women and workers,” he said. He assured that the demands of the district would be considered after reviewing the state’s financial position.

Hailing Revenue Minister Krishna Byre Gowda, the chief minister said there has been “revolutionary progress” in the department since he took charge.

Criticising the BJP, Siddaramaiah said the party, which failed to fulfil its promises when it was in power, is now spreading negative propaganda that the state treasury is empty.

Referring to opinions expressed by economists such as Amartya Sen and Abhijit Banerjee, and studies by newspapers and universities, the Chief Minister said it was condemnable that the BJP was misleading the people. He alleged that the BJP did nothing for four years when it was in power in the state from 2019 to 2023.

"The Central government is doing injustice to the state by not providing adequate grants. Our successful 1,000 days of governance stand testimony to our pro-people commitment," he said. He added that these achievements were made despite what he described as injustice by the Union government.

Alleging financial injustice, he said the Centre caused losses to the state due to shortfalls in GST compensation. He said the state suffered a loss of Rs 12,000 crore to Rs 15,000 crore.

“We are not getting our rightful share. Under the Jal Jeevan Mission, Rs 15,000 crore is yet to be released. If this grant is provided, many development works can be taken up across the state,” Siddaramaiah said.

He accused former Chief Minister and current MP Basavaraj Bommai, Union Minister Pralhad Joshi and BJP leader Jagadish Shettar of not raising their voice in the national capital against the injustice to the state.
