The Sikkim Tourism and Civil Aviation Department has launched an e-office web application aimed at digitising official processes, improving transparency and enhancing administrative efficiency across the department.

The platform was inaugurated on Wednesday by Tourism and Civil Aviation Minister Tshering T Bhutia, who said the initiative had been introduced under the direction of Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang to ensure efficient, transparent and hassle-free delivery of public services.

Speaking after the launch, Bhutia said the e-office system would enable real-time tracking and monitoring of proposals once documents are scanned and uploaded to the portal.

“It is a time-saving initiative that enables officials concerned to review proposals and take necessary action digitally,” the minister said.

According to Bhutia, the platform will connect district tourism offices with the department’s headquarters, improving coordination and speeding up administrative processes.

He added that tourism information centres across the state would also be integrated into the system in the coming days, creating a more seamless digital network for the department.

Officials said the e-office application is designed to reduce paperwork, streamline workflow and facilitate quicker decision-making. The system is also expected to improve transparency by allowing better monitoring of files and proposals as they move through different stages of processing.

The minister said the initiative reflects the department’s commitment to strengthening digital governance and keeping pace with evolving technological requirements in public administration.

The launch is part of the state government's broader efforts to modernise governance through technology-driven solutions and improve service delivery for citizens and stakeholders in the tourism sector.

Officials expressed confidence that the platform would significantly reduce processing time while enhancing accountability and efficiency within the department.
