Popular Punjabi singer Harman Sidhu, best known for his hit duet “Kagaz Jeha Pyar” with Miss Pooja, died in a road accident late on Friday night. He was 40.
Sidhu was returning to his native village, Khiala, from Mansa when his car collided with a truck, killing him on the spot.
The body has been taken to Mansa Civil Hospital for post-mortem examination. Harman is survived by his wife and a young daughter.
Harman rose to fame with his song “Paper Te Pyaar”. The track earned him widespread recognition and established him as a known stage performer. He also collaborated with Miss Pooja in several music albums. Some of his other popular songs are “Koi Chakkar Nai”, “Bebe Bapu”, “Babbar Sher” and “Multan VS Russia”.
Harman had been arrested in 2018, along with his friends, for carrying drugs. They were remanded in one-day police custody by a local court. During interrogation, Harman had told the police that he had been a drug addict for the past six to seven months.
