Six tourists injured after hotel lift collapses in Srinagar

Six Bengaluru tourists injured after lift collapse at Srinagar hotel in Hyderpora; all stable and undergoing treatment at hospital, officials said.


As many as six tourists suffered injuries on Friday after a hotel lift collapsed, officials said. The incident reportedly took place at a newly constructed hotel in the Hyderpora area of the city.
 
The officials present at the incident site said that all the injured tourists have been rushed to the nearby Bone and Joint Hospital at Barzullah for medical treatment and check-up.
 
All the injured tourists are said to be in stable condition.
 
According to officials, the incident took place at Hotel Arison Luxury in the uptown area of Srinagar city, where this particular group of tourists were staying.
 
The injured have been identified as Venkatesh (65), son of Muni Thimmaiah; D. Mangula (54), wife of R.L. Murthy; Kushalla (18), daughter of Jayaram; Pankaja (16); Venkatalakshmamma (60), wife of Chinnya; and Sowbhagya (60), wife of Venkatesh.
 
All the injured are residents of Bengaluru.
