Gangster Himanshu Sonipat, who is allegedly linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, has reportedly claimed responsibility for the killing of gangster Vinod Panu, alias Kana, outside the Hisar court complex. The claim was made in a social media post.

In the post, Himanshu Sonipat allegedly said he carried out the killing. He also claimed that he acted on the instructions of Rohit Sonipat, alias Budha, Anil Pandit and Harman Sandhu.

He alleged that Panu had links with rival groups and said the killing was carried out because of those alleged connections. The post also reportedly carried threats against others, warning them of similar action.

The authenticity of the social media post has not been independently confirmed. Police are investigating the murder and will verify whether the online claim is genuine. The claim surfaced a day after Vinod Panu, alias Kana, was shot dead outside the Hisar court complex on August 20. Police said the attack took place in the court parking area when Panu had arrived for a hearing.

According to police, the attackers fired around 14 rounds at Panu. Police teams reached the spot soon after the shooting and began investigating the case.

One suspected attacker was caught at the scene and a weapon was recovered, police said. Two other people were also reportedly injured in the firing.

Forensic teams later examined the crime scene and collected evidence. Police are also searching for others who may have been involved in the attack. Police said Panu was facing around 32 criminal cases, including murder cases. His visit to the court for a scheduled hearing on the day of the shooting is also part of the investigation.

Multiple police teams are working on the case to identify other suspects and establish the motive behind the killing. The social media post has given investigators another lead. Police will now have to confirm whether Himanshu Sonipat was actually behind the post and whether the three people named in it had any role in the murder.
