In the wake of a harrowing terrorist assault on an Indian Air Force (IAF) convoy in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district, one of the four injured soldiers is fighting for his life while the others remain in stable condition.
The attack, which transpired on Saturday, claimed the life of one Air Force soldier, sending shockwaves through the region.
The injured soldier's critical condition highlighted the severity of the attack, which occurred as the IAF convoy was en route to Sanai Top in Poonch's Surankot area around 6:15 pm.
The convoy became the target of assailants, resulting in casualties and injuries that have rattled the security apparatus in the region.
In response to the incident, additional IAF and Army personnel have been swiftly deployed to the site of the attack. The presence of IAF Garud Special Forces initially stationed at the scene has been augmented by reinforcements from the Army, with forces converging on Jarra Wali Gali (JWG) in Poonch.
Security officials have launched a comprehensive search and cordon operation, involving the Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police, to apprehend the perpetrators responsible for the brazen assault.
The operation aims to root out any remaining threats and bring those behind the attack to justice.
