Ending the speculation surrounding his political future, former Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren announced today that he will either form a new political party or align with like-minded individuals.
Speaking to his supporters in Jilinggoda, Seraikela district, Soren pointed out his commitment to addressing the concerns of tribals, natives, Dalits, and the underprivileged in Jharkhand.
Initially considering retirement, Soren changed his mind after receiving substantial support from thousands of workers upon his return from Kolkata.
"I had planned to retire, but the overwhelming support from workers led me to reconsider," Soren stated.
"I will either form a new party or join forces with a partner who shares our vision for the tribals, natives, and Dalits," he said.
Soren expressed his desire to make Jharkhand an exemplary state, focusing on respecting and uplifting its marginalised communities.
He recalled his past struggles for workers' rights and the Jharkhand movement, underscoring his continued dedication to these causes.
Following Soren's arrival in his village, a large crowd of supporters gathered at his residence.
Soren criticised the treatment he faced after his tenure as Chief Minister, describing it as "intolerable".
This announcement puts to rest rumors about his potential alliance with the BJP.
Although he has yet to name his new party, Soren assured that details will be revealed within a week.
