A speeding car rammed several vehicles before crashing through the gate of a house in the Dalanwala area of Dehradun, leaving one person dead and two others injured, police said on Friday. The police have apprehended the accused, Guneet Singh (43), a resident of Inder Road.
According to reports, at around 8 pm on Thursday, the car first hit another four-wheeler near DL Cut, then struck a scooter and a motorcycle, causing severe damage to both vehicles.
Police said the scooter rider Rahul and the motorcycle riders, Rohit Phillips (48) and his son Anuj Phillips (22), residents of Old Survey Road, were seriously injured in the crash. All the injured were rushed to a hospital. Rohit later died during treatment.
Police said Singh was driving at a very high speed. Even after hitting multiple vehicles, the car did not slow down. It crashed through the gate of a house on Old Survey Road and hit another scooter and a parked car inside the compound, damaging both. The car has been impounded and the driver is being questioned, police added.
