Jammu and Kashmir has been turned into a fortress for the upcoming Independence Day celebrations on August 15. Security around key installations and major government and public administration offices has been intensified, while foolproof security arrangements are in place for the day.

On Friday, Director General of Police (DGP) Nalin Prabhat reviewed security arrangements across the main venue and other important locations in the summer capital to ensure the smooth conduct of Independence Day celebrations tomorrow.

Officials said DGP J&K Nalin Prabhat, accompanied by IGP Kashmir V.K. Birdi, SSP Srinagar Dr G.V. Sundeep Chakravarthy and other jurisdictional officers, conducted a late-night ground review of security arrangements across Srinagar ahead of Independence Day.

The top cop of Jammu and Kashmir inspected checkpoints installed specifically for the Independence Day celebrations and reviewed all arrangements at Bakshi Stadium.
During the inspection visit, he also interacted with personnel on the ground and assessed the overall preparedness.

He directed the security officials and other agencies to maintain coordination, alertness, and robust security measures.
