The School Education department initiated the process to confirm applications of 'untainted' teachers who were in state government posts prior to clearing the 2016 SSC test and became jobless, according to a recent order of the Supreme Court, an official added. The top court in a direction on April 3 struck down the appointments of 25,753 teaching and non-teaching employees but noted those who worked in state government departments in previous jobs before taking the 2016 recruitment test and not falling under the "tainted" category, can submit new applications for re-appointment in their previous workplace and in similar previous post.
A top SSC official informed the media on Sunday that School Education department on June 20 issued a communique to all district inspectors of schools "for verification and authentication" of applications by those candidates.
School Education department has thousands of such applications and prepared database of every zone.

"Now the list of every respective zone has been sent to the concerned DI office and we have requested verification of each and every name, whether he or she passed the 2016 test, whether he/she was in the untainted list and on service up to April 2," the official explained.
The DIs are required to provide their feedback by early next week, he added. The untainted teachers began sending applications from April 14-15. The notice stated that, "The ones who do not belong to the tainted category have been allowed to apply to their past departments."
The official added since the candidates had submitted applications to different state government departments ranging from DI to WBSSC, directly to school education department and the two boards responsible for administering the secondary and higher secondary education, the department is making the process smoother through single nodal authority DI offices across different zones.

Earlier, SSC had dispatched lists of more than 13,000 "not specifically tainted" (untainted) teachers who are able to impart instructions at their own current workplaces and receive remuneration up to December 31. The same teachers are presently at their work places while many of them are continuing their protest for being re-instated permanently and declined to appear for any new recruitment tests.
