The Chief Executive Officer of an AI lab has been arrested on account of killing her four-year-old son. Suchana Seth, 39, was staying in a rented apartment in North Goa’s Candolim, since the first week of January. Her estranged husband Venkat Raman lives in Indonesia, who has been apprised about the incident.
As per Calangute police station inspector Paresh Naik, Seth, after staying in the apartment for few days, one fine day, she had asked one of the staffs of the apartment to arrange for a taxi. She urgently wanted to leave for Bengaluru for some work. The staff had even advised her to take a flight, which will be less expensive. However, Seth insisted on arranging a taxi. On her request, the taxi was arranged and she left the apartment with her belongings.
At the later part of the day, when the staff went to clean the room, he found blood stains on a towel. The management of the apartment informed the Calangute police. As police personnel reached the spot of the incident, they were informed that when Seth left, her son was not with her and she was carrying a heavy bag.
The police called her and enquired about the blood stains and her son. To which she said that the blood marks where period stains and her son is at his friend’s place in Margao town of South Goa. She even gave the address. Calangute Police got in touch with Fatorda Police Station, that is, near Margao and found that the address given by Seth does not exist.
Calangute Police spoke to the driver who was with Seth and asked him to take the taxi to the nearest police station. On searching her bag, the son’s dead body was found. Seth, who hails from West Bengal, is under transit remand.
