No Himachali stranded in the Middle East has been harmed after the attack on Iran by the US and Israel, and those wishing to return will be brought back safely once flights resume, Industry Minister Harshwardhan Chauhan said on Monday.
The minister said the state home secretary is in constant touch with the Ministry of External Affairs and the Union home secretary. He added that the situation was being closely monitored as the airspace in the Middle East remains closed. Chauhan said feedback is also being collected from different states regarding their citizens stuck in the region.
“As of now, the exact number of people from the state stranded in the Middle East is not available, but they are in touch with their family members. No Himachali has been harmed,” he said. He added that some families have approached the state government for assistance. The government has assured them that all those who wish to return will be brought back safely once the airspace opens and flights resume.
