The final rites of veteran politician Sukhdev Dhindsa were conducted with full state honours on Friday at his ancestral village Ubhawal in Sangrur district, marking the end of an era in Punjab politics.
A large gathering of people from across the state came together to pay their last respects to the senior leader, who was regarded as a towering figure in the political landscape of Punjab for several decades.

The ceremony commenced with an ardaas led by former Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh, followed by the cremation.
Prominent political figures attended the funeral, including senior Shiromani Akali Dal leaders Sukhbir Singh Badal, H.S. Dhami, Manpreet Ayali, Bikram Singh Majithia, and Winnerjit Singh Goldy.
From the Punjab government, Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema and Minister Aman Arora were present, while Congress leaders Kulbir Singh Zira and Brahm Mohindra also paid tribute to the late statesman.
