Jailed Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's wife, Sunita Kejriwal will take the lead in the campaign for the Aam Aadmi Party in Haryana, ahead of assembly polls in the state. AAP, on Friday, announced that Sunita will embark on a two-day campaign tour in Haryana, visiting Ambala, Bhiwani, and Rohtak starting Saturday.
"Sunita Kejriwal will begin a two-day tour of the state from Saturday. She will visit Ambala, Bhiwani, and Rohtak," the party said.
Sunita Kejriwal has been an active campaigner for AAP candidates in the past, including during the Lok Sabha elections in Delhi, Haryana, and Gujarat. Last week, she launched the 'Kejriwal ki Guarantee' program in Panchkula, Haryana. Her campaign tour is seen as a significant move by the party to strengthen its presence in the state.
AAP has announced its intention to contest all 90 seats in the Haryana assembly elections, currently governed by the BJP. The party has yet to win a seat in the state assembly. In the recent Lok Sabha elections, AAP's state unit chief Sushil Gupta lost to the BJP's Naveen Jindal in the Kurukshetra seat. With Sunita Kejriwal's campaign tour, AAP aims to build momentum and make inroads in Haryana politics.
