Being AICC General Secretary in charge of Karnataka, Randeep Singh Surjewala went on having one-to-one meetings with various ministers on Wednesday, but opposition Bharatiya Janata Party and Janata Dal (Secular) taunted the ruling Congress saying he is a "super CM". They also wanted to know if "Randeep rule" has been established in the state.
BJP leader R Ashoka asserted that Congress high command, having lost all confidence in CM Siddaramaiah, has imposed a "Randeep rule" in Karnataka.
Surjewala's individual meetings with ministers went into the third day on Wednesday. The meetings are stated to be aimed at gauging their grievances, evaluating their performance, and settling the complaints brought up by the party MLAs against the ministers.
The AICC General Secretary earlier on Saturday and Sunday had conducted two rounds of one-on-one meetings with party legislators in the state.
"Is Randeep rule being applied in the state? Will Thursday's cabinet session also be chaired by Surjewala?" Ashoka asked on an 'X' post. "The Congress high command, which has lost trust in the lottery CM Siddaramaiah, has imposed a 'Randeep rule' in Karnataka," he claimed and added, "It is not surprising if Surjewala, who is listening to complaints and grievances of disgruntled MLAs in the KPCC office and five-star hotels and reading through the performance of the ministers, attends the cabinet meeting to be held at the Vidhana Soudha on Thursday and presides over it himself. CM Siddaramaiah does not have a hold on the administration, and Deputy CM D K Shivakumar doesn't enjoy the MLAs' support, and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi doesn't have the authority to appoint whosoever he wants as the Chief Minister," Ashoka alleged.

"Overall, the Karnataka Congress party is in a "limbo" with no one leader who can manage the Chief Minister's post with efficacy," Ashoka asserted.
In the meantime, JD(S) State Youth President Nikhil Kumaraswamy in a 'X' post sarcastically stated, "Congratulations to Surjewala on his silent promotion to the Super CM of Karnataka." "It seems the elected CM has given Surjewala a GPA to govern," he lashed.
"Elected democratically MLAs are now compelled to bend before a 'Surjewala Sarkar' for constituency development funds," he alleged.
"Siddaramaiah is outgoing (as CM), DK Shivakumar is incoming, but Surjewala is already in power," Nikhil Kumaraswamy alleged, referring to CM change rumours within the ruling Congress. The party has made Karnataka a puppet state, he alleged, describing it as "a total mockery of federalism and democracy."
