Security forces on Monday launched a cordon and search operation after a suspected Pakistani drone was sighted over a forward village along the Line of Control in Rajouri district, officials said.

 

According to officials, a drone-like object fitted with a blinking light was noticed over the forward villages of Meenka and Beripattan in the Sunderbani sector late Sunday.

 

Officials added that the suspected drone briefly entered the Indian side before returning to Pakistan.

 

Upon noticing the drone movement, security forces launched a search operation at first light to check whether the drone had carried and dropped any payload, such as weapons, arms, explosives, devices or narcotics.

 

However, no suspicious or objectionable material was recovered during the operation, officials said.
