Security forces on Thursday night detained a “suspicious” person at an Army formation in Jammu, and a probe into the incident has been launched, officials said.
“A suspicious person has been detained. The matter is under investigation,” sources said.
They said more details are awaited.
Reports, on the other hand, have claimed that a van driver belonging to an Army Public School near the Sunjwan formation was found to have three Pakistani contacts in his mobile phone, leading to suspicions about a deeper conspiracy.
A school van driver named Touseef, with authorised access to an Army Public School in Jammu, was detained on April 9, 2026, after suspicious Pakistani phone contacts were found on his phone during a routine check at the B Gate.
During a routine check at the B Gate, his mobile contained three contacts with Pakistani numbers named “ChachaGujjra", "Ahmiii", and “Ali bhi”.
The security agencies are now investigating the driver’s activities and potential connections, with a focus on possible cross-border links.
