Telangana Police have launched a manhunt to arrest former YSRCP MLA from Vinukonda in Andhra Pradesh’s Palnadu district, Bolla Brahma Naidu, who is absconding in connection with a multi-crore land scam involving alleged forgery of government records and illegal attempts to encroach upon government land.
Acting on a complaint filed by the local Tahsildar, Cyberabad police initiated an investigation and have already arrested three persons linked to the case. Officials said efforts are underway to trace and apprehend the former legislator along with other accused individuals.
According to police, the case pertains to 104 acres and 25 guntas of land in Survey No. 18 in Gandipet village, Ranga Reddy district, which is officially classified as “poramboke kanche” (government grazing/wasteland). Investigators said that despite the land’s status, certain individuals from a family attempted to claim ownership and repeatedly trespassed onto the property.
The matter dates back to 2012 when the government attempted eviction, following which a writ petition was filed in the High Court. While the case was pending, the petitioners allegedly entered into an agreement with Rudraraju Ramakrishna Raju to sell the land and even constructed a shed on the site, appointing a caretaker. However, the deal reportedly collapsed after the buyer discovered that the land belonged to the government.
Following prolonged litigation, the High Court delivered its verdict on October 6, 2025, dismissing the petition and affirming government ownership. Revenue officials subsequently demolished the shed, reclaimed the land, and evicted the occupant from the site.
Police alleged that after the judgment, Naidu and his relative Ramesh conspired with others to illegally usurp the land by reviving claims and fabricating documents. Investigators said intermediaries, including Sunil and Veldi Radhakrishna, were roped in to facilitate the operation. One of them allegedly posed as an Additional Collector of Suryapet to gain the trust of the land claimants.
As part of the alleged conspiracy, an agreement was reportedly reached to purchase the land at Rs 3.5 crore per acre. On December 2 last year, the accused are said to have fabricated five fake government orders (GOs), numbered 552, 553, 554, 555, and 558, falsely indicating regularisation of 9 acres and 28 guntas of government land in favour of private individuals.
The forged documents were circulated via WhatsApp and other platforms to attract potential buyers, police said. The scam came to light after Gandipet Tahsildar Srinivasa Reddy initiated a preliminary inquiry and confirmed the documents were fake, following which a complaint was lodged at Narsingi police station on May 23.
Subsequently, searches were conducted at multiple locations with court permission, leading to the seizure of fake GOs, mobile phones, laptops, bank passbooks, and related documents. Three accused were arrested and remanded to judicial custody.
Serilingampally DCP Chintamaneni Srinivas, responding to queries on the former MLA’s role, said the land in question is valued at around Rs 1,000 crore. He noted that the attempt to purchase it for approximately Rs 35 crore raised serious suspicion of a broader conspiracy.
“Given the circumstances, entering into such an agreement clearly indicates a conspiracy. We consider Naidu to be a conspirator,” the DCP said, confirming that the former MLA is currently absconding as the investigation continues.
