Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang has reaffirmed his party's unwavering support for the NDA, crediting the Modi government's developmental assistance for the progress of Sikkim.

Tamang, leader of the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM), was sworn in for his second term as chief minister at Paljor Stadium in Gangtok on Monday.

Tamang highlighted his administration's priorities for the new term, encapsulated in the acronym BIPASHA (Bijli, Paan, Sadak, Swasthya, Siksha, Rojgar).

He attributed his party's electoral success to the development work achieved despite the severe challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Tamang highlighted SKM's continued support for the Modi government, stating, "In my first tenure as well, we supported the NDA... we will always support the NDA as they have supported our state."

He noted the significant support Sikkim has received from the Union government under Modi's leadership, contrasting it with previous administrations.

SKM secured a decisive victory, winning 31 of the 32 assembly seats, with the Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) winning just one seat.

Notably, SDF leader and former chief minister Pawan Kumar Chamling failed to win either of the seats he contested.
