The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has asserted that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will secure a decisive victory in Andhra Pradesh, with Chandrababu Naidu set to be sworn in as Chief Minister for the fourth time on June 4th.
This statement was disseminated by TDP spokesperson Vidyasagar Y, who accused the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) of engaging in "unnecessary mischief" following polling, anticipating the election results.
According to Vidyasagar, the YSRCP has been targeting contested candidates and key local leaders across Andhra Pradesh.
He alleged that some government officials colluded with the YSRCP to influence the outcome in their favour, although the Election Commission has since suspended or transferred most of these officers.
Vidyasagar further claimed that YSRCP leader Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy has been inciting agents in the counting halls to cause disruptions.
Vidyasagar highlighted several failures attributed to the YSRCP government, which he believes led to a significant shift in voter sentiment:
1. Job Calendar Failure: The lack of job opportunities has led to widespread unemployment among the youth.
2. Abolition of CPS: The abolition of the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) was a major blunder.
3. Negative PRC & IR: For the first time, employees faced negative Pay Revision Commission (PRC) and Interim Relief (IR), with no promotions and delayed salaries over 59 months.
4. Pension Delays: Pensioners consistently received their payments late, impacting their financial stability.
5. CIBIL Issues: Both employees and pensioners have suffered due to poor credit ratings.
6. Agricultural Neglect: For three years, farmers received no input subsidies, insurance, or support for agricultural equipment.
7. Crop Holidays: Farmers were forced to take crop holidays.
8. Aqua Field Subsidy: There was no subsidy for aquaculture.
9. Power Charges: Power charges were raised seven times in five years, affecting households and industries.
10. Commodity Prices: Prices of commodities soared by 300%.
11. Tax Increases: There were significant increases in taxes on domestic waste, road tax, cess on petrol and diesel, and property taxes, burdening the common man.
Vidyasagar also pointed at the YSRCP for failing to attract new industries, mismanaging the Vivekananda Reddy murder case, Sharmila’s association with the Congress Party, and the incomplete Polavaram Project. Other issues included poor infrastructure, lack of housing, land titling problems, law and order issues, state-sponsored corruption, the Skill Development scam, and attacks on Hindu temples.
He stressed that despite the YSRCP's reliance on welfare schemes and monetary distributions, these measures could not cover up their failures. Vidyasagar predicted that the true sentiment of the affected public would become evident on June 4th when the election results are announced.
