The Telangana Government Doctors Association (TGGDA) has called for statewide bandh beginning from Friday, June 5, in protest of transfers in violation of Government Order 38. Dr Ramesh, the TGGDA president, said that nearly 5,000 doctors will participate. As part of this action, they will stop OP services at state government hospitals, including Osmania General Hospital, Gandhi Hospital, and Niloufer Hospital.
Doctors want the government to handle their concerns and enforce the directive strictly. Additionally, various medical association members have supported the strike. The TGGDA has stated that the protest will continue until the Telangana government enforces GO 38 correctly. However, the association reassured the public that inpatient and emergency services at all government hospitals across the state will continue without interruption.
Furthermore, the association’s Central Executive Committee announced that none of the State Executive Committee office-bearers will submit their transfer preference forms until the provisions of GO 38 are fully implemented.
Issued in April 2026, GO 38 provides comprehensive guidelines for the transfer of government employees in Telangana, including state-employed doctors. This order is meant to manage workplace transfers fairly. It sets clear rules on picking the right candidates and gives priority to keeping spouses together and it stops the best city jobs from being hogged, while still filling important rural roles. So, it plays a big role in keeping everything balanced.
