The Telangana Police, in a coordinated effort with the Andhra Pradesh Police, have foiled an ISIS-linked bomb plot in Hyderabad on Sunday, arresting two suspects.
The operation, conducted jointly by the Telangana Counter Intelligence and Andhra Pradesh Intelligence, led to the arrest of Siraj from Vizianagaram and Sameer from Hyderabad. Both are believed to have been plotting to carry out a dummy blast in the city.
According to sources, Siraj allegedly procured explosive materials in Vizianagaram as part of the plot, following instructions from an ISIS module based in Saudi Arabia. Sameer, reportedly the local handler, was tasked with executing the plan in Hyderabad.
The duo had been communicating with their handlers abroad, receiving guidance on the timing and location of the planned attack.
The joint intelligence operation, which spanned several weeks, focused on intercepting communications and tracking financial transactions, ultimately leading to the arrests.

Both suspects are currently in custody, and further investigations are underway to identify potential collaborators and unravel the broader network involved.
The foiled plot comes amid heightened security concerns following the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, where terrorists, including Pakistani nationals and local operatives linked to the Lashkar-e-Taiba, opened fire on tourists last month.
Security forces have since intensified search operations across several states, including Jammu and Kashmir, acting on intelligence inputs regarding the possible presence of terrorists.
Additionally, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) recently conducted raids at 15 locations in Punjab, targeting associates of gangster Happy Passian, who is linked to Pakistan-based Khalistani terrorist Harwinder Singh alias Rinda. The raids were part of the ongoing investigation into the December grenade attack on a police station in Gurdaspur.
