Security forces busted a terror hideout in the Nilsar area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, leading to the recovery of a significant cache of arms and explosives during a joint search operation, officials said.
As per official sources, the operation was jointly launched by Baramulla Police, the Army’s 52 Rashtriya Rifles, and the CRPF after specific intelligence inputs pointed to the presence of terror-related material in the area.
Officials said the joint team carried out an extensive search in the forest belt of Nilsar Kandi, during which a suspected terrorist hideout was busted.
During the operation, security forces recovered a substantial amount of ammunition, along with Rocket Propelled Grenade (RPG) rounds and other explosive material.
The area was later sanitised and the recovered items were taken into custody for further examination.
A case has been registered in this regard and further investigation is underway.
