At least three persons were arrested after explosive substances and posters belonging to Hizbul Mujahideen were recovered from their possession in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian district, officials said on Friday.
The police recovered two grenades, 2.5 kg of PEK (plastic explosive), four mobile phones, and posters of the proscribed outfit Hizbul Mujahideen.
The three individuals, along with the incriminating material, were taken into custody from the Pudsoo area of the south Kashmir district on Thursday night.
The arrested persons have been identified as Aizaz Ahmad Khanday, Arbaz Ahmad Mir, and Nasir Ahmad Dar, all residents of Begama in Shopian.
Officials said all three had been missing from their homes since May 31.
