Three crude bombs were discovered outside a house in Bihar’s Araria district, causing panic among residents, police officials said on Thursday.
The explosives were found inside a bag left near a residence in Bochi village, located in the Bairgachi police station area, on Wednesday night.
Authorities suspect that the bombs were placed outside the house as a means of intimidation, likely stemming from an ongoing land dispute between two parties in the village. Following the incident, the police launched an investigation and arrested two individuals in connection with the case.
According to a senior police officer, the arrested individuals are relatives and have been engaged in a long-standing conflict over a piece of land. The dispute had escalated earlier in the week, with a minor scuffle breaking out between the two sides on Tuesday.
"It is suspected that the placement of crude bombs is linked to the altercation that took place on Tuesday. However, we are investigating all possible angles to determine the exact motive," the police officer stated.
All three bombs were successfully defused by the police bomb disposal team, ensuring there was no further risk to public safety. Both parties involved in the dispute have lodged complaints against each other, and authorities have assured that a thorough investigation is underway to identify all those responsible for the act.
