At least three dozen persons were hospitalised after suffering suspected food poisoning following a wedding feast in the Badshahithaul area of Tehri district, officials said on Thursday.
The affected people included around 30 women and children from Dharsal and Jugad villages. They complained of vomiting, diarrhoea and stomach pain after attending the wedding function held at a banquet hall on Tuesday.
Officials at the district hospital said 15 patients were admitted on Wednesday, while another 20 people reached the hospital for treatment on Thursday morning.
“The condition of all patients is stable and they are under constant observation,” said Chief Medical Superintendent Dr Amit Rai. He added that 22 patients were discharged after receiving primary treatment, while 13 people are still undergoing medical care at the hospital.
Meanwhile, the Food Safety Department has collected seven samples of food items, including flour, pulses, gram flour and noodles, for laboratory testing.
