Several parts of Himachal Pradesh received light to moderate rainfall on Wednesday, while others were hit by thunderstorms and lightning, according to the local meteorological centre.
Places, including Shimla, Jubberhatti, Sundernagar, Jot and Kangra, experienced thunderstorm activity during the day. In the 24-hour period ending 4 pm on Tuesday, Sangrah recorded the highest rainfall at 31 mm, followed by Shimla at 18 mm, Nahan 13.2 mm, Mandi 7.6 mm, Kahu 7.4 mm, Berthin 6.2 mm, Sarahan 5.5 mm, and Solan, Palampur and Jaton Barrage at 5.2 mm each. Seobagh also reported gusty winds.

Officials also noted damage to horticultural crops in isolated pockets of upper Shimla due to hailstorms. The Shimla Meteorological Office has forecast another wet spell across the state on Thursday, May 11, and May 12, as a fresh western disturbance is expected to affect the western Himalayan region from May 10.
A yellow warning has been issued for thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds reaching speeds of 40–50 kmph at isolated locations on May 11 and 12.
On the temperature front, Tabo recorded the lowest minimum temperature at 0.8°C, while Una registered the highest daytime temperature at 33°C.
The weather office also said minimum and maximum temperatures are likely to gradually rise over the next four to five days by about 2–4°C and 3–8°C, respectively.
