Security beefed up after Iskcon temple in Tirupati received a bomb threat on Sunday via email.
As per reports, even Sri Varadaraja Swamy temple, run by the Jeeyangar Mutt, and located close to the administrative headquarters of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), got a threat call.
A comprehensive search operation by the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) and dog squad is being conducted.
Despite the threat, which claimed that "Pakistan's ISI-related terrorists would blow up the temple", no explosives or suspicious items were discovered on the temple grounds. Police have initiated an investigation into the incident.
This threat comes just a day after two well-known hotels in Tirupati were subjected to similar hoax bomb threats on Saturday.
Police confirmed that the threats were unfounded after conducting extensive searches with the help of BDS and sniffer dogs.
Threat emails suggest Jaffer Sadiq, an alleged drug trafficking network kingpin who was recently arrested in Tamil Nadu by the Narcotics Control Bureau and the Enforcement Directorate, is behind the threat.
