TMC fires back on corruption charge, questions PM's stage sharing with Suvendu, accused in Narada case

Panja further criticised the central government's alleged withholding of funds for crucial schemes like MGNREGA, claiming this action deprived numerous beneficiaries in West Bengal of their rightful wages.

The Trinamool Congress (TMC) countered Prime Minister Narendra Modi's accusations of corruption levelled against the party during a rally in Krishnanagar, West Bengal.

Senior TMC leader Shashi Panja questioned the legitimacy of these criticisms, highlighting the Prime Minister's decision to share the stage with Suvendu Adhikari, a BJP leader facing charges in the Narada sting operation case.

Panja further criticised the central government's alleged withholding of funds for crucial schemes like MGNREGA, claiming this action deprived numerous beneficiaries in West Bengal of their rightful wages.

She contrasted this with the situation in Uttar Pradesh, claiming the BJP-governed state, despite having a higher number of "fake job card holders," received full funding.

Panja asserted that the people of West Bengal are aware of these developments and remain vigilant.

In his address, PM Modi launched a scathing attack on the TMC government, labelling it as synonymous with "oppression, dynasty politics, and betrayal."

He further accused the party of turning welfare schemes into scams and coined a derogatory acronym for TMC, suggesting it now stands for "Tu, Main, aur Corruption" (You, Me, and Corruption).

Additionally, the Prime Minister accused the TMC of using women as a "vote-bank" and neglecting their concerns, citing the alleged lack of action in the Sandeshkhali incident. He claimed the state government prioritized the interests of criminals over the safety and well-being of the people.
