The Tamil Nadu Governor, Ravindra Narayana Ravi, left thousands awestruck during International Yoga Day celebrations on Saturday morning at the Velammal Educational Institution in Madurai.
Joining more than 10,000 students, the 73-year-old Governor led by example throughout the yoga session and even gave a jaw-dropping performance that defied age and youth.

Dressed in a vest and tracksuit, forgoing the formal dress code, the Governor caught the essence of the day with verve that could have betrayed his age. Calling upon his training in the Indian Police Service (IPS), he performed each of the yoga asanas with alacrity and aplomb.
The centre of attraction of the session was the 51 push-ups done consecutively by the governor. This left the audience cheering wildly for him.

Those present there at the crowd were left in disbelief, there were murmurs across the crowd as they wondered if the man doing push-ups was really over 70 or a 30-year-old in disguise. Governor RN Ravi’s performance stands as a testament to the timeless benefits of regular yoga practice and serves as a living example to the phrase "age is just a number."
