A 27-year-old woman tourist and her instructor were killed in a paragliding accident in North Goa, police reported on Sunday. The incident took place on Saturday evening at Keri village.
Shivani Dable, a resident of Pune, and her instructor, Sumal Nepali, a 26-year-old Nepalese national, crashed into a ravine at Keri Plateau around 5 pm.
The official stated that Dable had chosen to paraglide with an adventure sports company that was operating illegally. According to the complaint, the paraglider plunged into a ravine shortly after taking off from a cliff, killing both of them instantly.
A case has been filed at Mandrem police station against the company owner, Shekhar Raizada, for endangering human life under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.
