A landslide has blocked the Shimla-Mataur National Highway (NH-205) near Bilaspur, bringing traffic to a halt. Vehicles were stranded on both sides of the highway, causing long queues and inconvenience to commuters.
The police said the landslide occurred near Namhol in Bilaspur district on Wednesday. A large amount of debris fell onto the highway, blocking the road. Police and district administration teams reached the spot to assess the situation and begin restoration work.
Meanwhile, traffic has been diverted through alternate routes. People travelling between Shimla and Bilaspur or Hamirpur have been advised to use the Brahmpukhar–Jukhala–Jabbal Bridge–Kotla–Kharsi–Dailamod route. Those travelling from Shimla to Mandi have been asked to take the Shimla–Dailamod–Navgaon–Kharsi–Kotla–Beri–Mandi route.
