<div>Traffic movement on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) remained suspended on Thursday due to landslides and mudslides triggered by heavy rainfall.</div>

<div>The Doda-Kishtwar road was also closed to traffic due to persistent rainfall and slippery conditions caused by debris. However, traffic along the historic Mughal Road remained open, although authorities have advised travellers to exercise caution and remain vigilant while commuting in adverse weather conditions.</div>
<div><br>Senior officials from the Traffic Department said that the heavy downpour has affected multiple highways and inter-district roads across Jammu and Kashmir, increasing the risk of further landslides, shooting stones and road blockages.</div>
<div><br>Officials have advised travellers to avoid non-essential movement until weather conditions improve and the roads are cleared in the coming days.</div>
<div><br>Traffic department officials have also urged people to verify the latest road status through the official Traffic Control Room of the Jammu and Kashmir Police, as the department routinely updates notifications on highway operations and road safety.</div>
<div><br>Commuters are advised to check with the department for the latest updates and follow official directions before beginning any journey.</div>
