Fresh details have emerged in the case involving 2025-batch trainee IPS officer M Uday Krishna Reddy, with Hyderabad Police alleging that he behaved in an inhuman manner towards a woman trainee IPS officer who filed a complaint against him.

 

A local court in Upparpally on Wednesday remanded Reddy to 14 days in judicial custody. He is currently lodged in Chanchalguda Central Jail.

 

Hyderabad City Commissioner of Police V C Sajjanar shared details of the investigation in an official statement.

 

According to the police, Reddy, a native of Woollapalem village in Singarayakonda mandal of Andhra Pradesh's Prakasam district, has been undergoing training at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy since December last year.

 

Police said Reddy met the complainant, a fellow trainee IPS officer, through Instagram in mid-2024. He allegedly impressed her by recounting his struggles to clear the civil services examination. The woman informed him that she had been selected for the 2024 batch but would join training later with the 2025 batch as she was on leave.

 

The two subsequently became friends, and their bond grew stronger during training. However, differences later emerged, leading to a fallout. Police alleged that Reddy was unable to accept the distance and repeatedly threatened to take his own life. He is also accused of making defamatory claims about the woman's personal life, alleging that she had relationships with multiple men.

 

According to the police, the woman later married another person, following which Reddy allegedly intensified the harassment through social media. Unable to bear the alleged harassment, she filed a complaint at Attapur police station on July 18, leading to the registration of a case.

 

On Wednesday morning, a police team led by Attapur Inspector Seethaiah took Reddy to his former residence in Ashoknagar for the reconstruction of events, as the complainant had stated that she had met him there earlier.

 

Meanwhile, the Telangana High Court has issued notices to the state government and the complainant on a petition filed by Reddy seeking to quash the case against him.
