A trainer aircraft performing a routine exercise crash-landed at the Guna airstrip on Wednesday evening, injuring a woman pilot, police officials informed.

The incident, attributed to a technical malfunction, occurred around 5 pm. Guna Superintendent of Police Sanjeev Sinha confirmed the mishap, stating that the aircraft, en route to Sagar from Neemuch, skidded off the runway during an emergency landing and veered into nearby bushes.

The woman trainee pilot sustained injuries in the crash, said Cantonment police station in-charge Chanchal Tiwari.

The extent of her injuries remains unreported.

"After developing a malfunction, a trainer aircraft flying from Neemuch to Dhana (in Sagar district) made an emergency landing, during which the pilot lost control. The trainee pilot sustained injuries and has been hospitalised," Sub-Inspector Chanchal Tiwari of the Guna Police station said.
