A two-seater training aircraft came down in Gojubavi village, Baramati, on Wednesday morning, according to initial reports from the scene. The aircraft, which is one of those belonging to the Redbird Flight Training Academy, had crashed inside the village limits, attracting a large number of people living in the area as well as the emergency crews at once.
Even though the first reaction when seeing the crash was that something terrible might have happened to the pilot who was practicing his skills in the aircraft, according to the first information obtained from the scene, the pilot seems to be all right. So far, the cause of losing altitude still remains unknown.
Local police teams have cordoned off the area to secure the crash site. This latest mishap has raised eyebrows in the region, coming only months after another light aircraft, reportedly linked to politician Ajit Pawar, crashed in the same part of Baramati. Authorities are currently gathering further evidence as they wait for a formal statement from the flight school.
