Royal scion and former chairman of Tipra Motha Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma  has pledged financial aid of ₹50,000 to the families of those who lost their lives in the recent floods that struck Tripura.

The devastating floods, which occurred between August 19 and August 24, resulted in the deaths of approximately 31 people due to landslides and drowning, and displaced over 100,000 residents who sought refuge in relief camps.

In a voice message released on Thursday, Pradyot announced that the aid will be provided from his personal funds, independent of any government or Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) resources.

He stressed that this support is a personal initiative and not linked to official relief funds.

Pradyot also called on the TTAADC and Tripura Government to ensure compensation for those who lost their homes, livestock, and agricultural lands in the disaster.

This move follows his earlier contribution of ₹10 lakh towards flood relief efforts.

Earlier on Monday, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha donated his one-month salary to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF).
