Four devotees from Punjab lost their lives and about 20 others were injured when a truck overturned near Dhaliara in Kangra district on Tuesday. The devotees were on their way to the Chamunda Devi Temple.
The accident happened on the Ranital-Mubarikpur National Highway when the driver lost control of the truck. Four people died on the spot.
The deceased were identified as Kuldeep Singh, Jasmail Singh, Goldy, and Jagsir Singh, all residents of Bathinda, Punjab.
Police and locals rushed to the spot, rescued the injured, and recovered the bodies. The injured were taken to Civil Hospital, Dehra. Six of them were later referred to Dr. Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College, Tanda, for further treatment.
Police said an investigation into the accident was underway.
