The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday unveiled its 29-point ‘Sankalp Patra’ ahead of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) elections, with Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha asserting that the party is poised to form the government in the council for the first time.
Addressing a gathering at the BJP’s TTAADC headquarters in Khumulwng, Dr Saha emphasised that the party’s vision document prioritises infrastructure development, holistic progress, and the welfare of tribal communities across the state.
“The Sankalp Patra highlights all key issues. Our main objective is to accelerate development in ADC areas, which have long remained underdeveloped. The double-engine government at the Centre and the state has allocated substantial funds for the ADC. Infrastructure development in tribal areas has been prioritised, and tap water facilities have been ensured under the Jal Jeevan Mission,” he said.
Dr Saha also highlighted initiatives under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, particularly for the rehabilitation of the Bru community. Electricity has been provided to rehabilitation centres, and drinking water facilities have been extended to remote areas such as Jampui Hills.

“This was also mentioned by the Prime Minister in his recent Mann Ki Baat programme. Our resolution is based on ground realities, and every point is aimed at the welfare of tribal communities. This time, history will be created as BJP is set to form the government in the ADC for the first time,” he added.
Reiterating the party’s stance against violence, Dr Saha said, “The BJP does not believe in violence. We are contesting in 28 seats this time. However, incidents of violence have been reported since the announcement. We strongly condemn such acts. We believe in peace, and our central leadership is committed to that path.”
Dr Saha expressed confidence that tribal voters would support the party’s vision. “The people will understand that this Sankalp Patra is meant for their overall welfare. Our Prime Minister delivers on his promises,” he said.
The event was attended by BJP state president and MP Rajib Bhattacharya, Tribal Welfare Minister Bikas Debbarma, Industries and Commerce Minister Santana Chakma, former MP Rebati Tripura, and other senior party leaders.
