The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Trust Board has been working towards improving the experience of devotees.
TTD Chairman BR Naidu has recently briefed media on one of the major resolutions of the meeting which involve usage of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to streamline queues.
The idea is to reduce the waiting times and ensure that all the devotees get to complete their darshan at the Tirumala Venkateswara Temple within two to three hours.
To facilitate this, the board has decided to form a committee of experts to recommend all the required measures.
“At times, it takes around 30 hours to complete darshan at the temple. This can also be perceived as a human rights violation. So we are thinking about how to make the experience of devotees at Tirumala good. We have also come up with a solution that if anybody is coming to Tirumala, they will take a photo of their face and they will automatically be given a time for darshan,” said Naidu.
Further, a resolution has been passed asking all the non-Hindu staffers at the temple to either opt for the Voluntary Retirement Scheme (VRS) or go for other jobs in other government sectors.
This comes as part of reforms being introduced by TTD following the ‘laddoo’ row and the subsequent political slugfest.
