The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) received a record donation of Rs 96.98 crore on Tuesday, as thousands of devotees rushed to contribute before the implementation of the revised donor privileges policy.
The unprecedented single-day collection came after TTD announced that donors who contributed under the existing system would continue to receive the prevailing benefits and facilities, even after the new policy came into effect on Wednesday. The clarification prompted a surge in donations ahead of the deadline.
According to TTD officials, a total of 2,460 devotees made contributions on Tuesday. Of these, 2,354 donors donated through online channels, while 106 made offline contributions.
Among the donors, 1,212 devotees contributed amounts ranging from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 10 lakh, while 1,246 donors contributed between Rs 10 lakh and Rs 25 lakh. Two devotees made contributions of Rs 1 crore or more.

The revised donor privileges policy was introduced by TTD to ensure that special facilities provided to donors do not impact the darshan experience of ordinary pilgrims. Under the new framework, certain benefits extended to donors have been rationalised.
Officials clarified that the revised policy will apply only to new donors, while those who had already contributed under the earlier system will continue to enjoy the existing privileges.
As of June 26, TTD had 1,97,888 registered donors. Of these, nearly 1.5 lakh devotees had contributed Rs 1 lakh, while around 22,000 donors had donated Rs 10 lakh towards various TTD trusts.
TTD officials said the record collection reflects the continued faith of devotees in Lord Venkateswara and the strong response from donors seeking to retain benefits under the earlier privilege system before the revised rules came into force.
